Sustainable Origin is the world's first ESG certification dedicated to companies in the footwear value chain. Because we serve a large number of companies in this segment, Embasul is proud to display this seal, which assures our consumers and business partners that we are part of building a more sustainable business ecosystem. Although it is a seal dedicated to the footwear production chain, its impact reaches much further: it is a holistic program that ensures and fosters improvements across economic, social, cultural, environmental and sustainability management dimensions. Therefore, customers from many different segments can purchase our packaging knowing they have a supplier in their chain who adheres to the best social and environmental practices.

To ensure the supply of raw material and "real" reverse logistics, Embasul partners with CTS Ambiental, a company that collects, sorts and forwards 5,000 tons of scrap per month for recycling. After serving their purpose, many of the packages produced by Embasul are sorted at supermarkets or sent to cooperatives, which in turn are CTS collection points. Because CTS's customers are also Embasul suppliers, we receive recycled paper from the very packaging we produce. Furthermore, by participating on both ends of the cardboard production cycle, everyone involved (CTS, recyclers, Embasul, and our packaging's final customers) has the imbalance effects of the production chain mitigated, since we can ensure the recycling wheel will not stop.
